I don't doubt they'll still be good. I'm just saying that you don't know what you got til it's gone. Without Walker as your QB there is not a doubt in my mind that NDSU would have atleast 2 losses. Walker is highly underrated and won't truly be paid his due until next year when people realize what he meant to the Bison.

Joe!! Believe me, I know how much it will hurt to lose Walker and most true Bison fans understand that. I dont need a UND fan telling me how much Walker will be missed, I understand it. Walker will be missed and almost impossible to replace, the same thing happend after Walker took over for Tony Stauss, lots of ppl were saying Stauss would be impossible to replace and now look what happened, 3 great seasons of Bison football from Walker. Nick Mertens is the next guy and should be a good QB hopefully he'll be great like Walker! But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This has to be the most ridiculous comment you've said in awhile. Bison fans know what he means to the Bison, we wouldn't be undefeated and ranked #1 if it weren't for Walker, we wouldnt have finished 10-1 and possibly undefeated this year without him. WE KNOW what he means, I mean comebacks wins vs. Ball St with 40 seconds left, 30 seconds vs. UC-Davis, 26 seconds vs. SHSU, and 36 seconds vs. Cal-Poly. Walker is a great QB and one of the best in the FCS and one of the best in Bison history, you can't tell me I dont understand that he wont be payed his dues until hes gone...

Well another fantastic season has come to an end. 20-2 the past two season that is amazing for a transition team. The transition is over and I am already looking forward to next season. Time to compete for a Gateway Conference Title and playoff spot.

NDSU returns 16 starters for next season but it is impossible to replace Steve Walker, Joe Mays, and Mik Dragosavich.

do you think that hurt their recruiting at all? I was surprised myself. I really thought they were going to go undefeated this year despite near losses to CAL POLY and SHSU.

Mediocre??? No way, this was a rivalry game and also the tough schedule helped them out. SDSU is ranked 21 and were riding a 4 game winning streak into the SU game, they played UNI and YSU tough. They're anything but mediocre.

This won't hurt NDSU's recruiting that much they still have the top recruit from SD and even said after the game he is still going to NDSU. As long as Bohl is around it won't hurt their recruiting.
